lectura del puerto serial

estoy realizando un trabajo que incluye enviar datos desde un fpga hacia el puerto serie de la pc usando un ftdi, para leer el puerto serie utilizo la interrupcion del mismo desde el software Labwindows, mi problemas es que los tiempos de procesamiento son distintos del fpga y la pc por tanto no tengo la seguridad de que el dato que se este enviando en un momento sea el dato leido

cómo puedo asegurarme de mandar un dato y que este sea recibido teniendo en cuanto que debo realizar una transmisión lo mas cercaba al tiempo real

DAQ USB 6008 Driver Issue

Hi,

 

Currently have an issue with my windows XP SP3 box recognizing the DAQ Hardware. Opening device manager shows a exclamation point on the device. I have tried installing the software multiple times with the same results. Upon rebooting it asks for the found new hardware wizard but does not recognize driver i point it to.

Looking for a location to download legacy LabWindows/CVI for Windows 95 and NT, Version 4.0.1. I still have an olde Schlumberger S645 Automated Test Equipment setup that requires NT to run and the system crashed. Can't locate backup of the LabWindows/CVI Version 4.0.1 so hoping there is a location to download from.

Hello friends, 

I have an issue which seems basic but I can't fix it anyway. I wanna set the y axis of a graph from an ".uir" so that the minimum is 0 and the maximum is 100 with an increment of 5. As you can see in the pictures down below, the maximum becomes 500 and the increment is 50 🤔🤔🤔

PlotStripChart and Timer issue

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue trying to plot a signal on the stripchart. I will explain it... I am communicating a LabWindows/CVI application with an FPGA from Altera through an FTDI. I communicate with the FTDI through a COM port. The goal is to obtain some values from the FPGA and plot them in a real time stripchart graph through a timer with an interval of 1ms. I can read the data quite well without any problem but I am having issues ploting it on the stripchart, the problem is that acording to the x-label of the stripchart (time) the ploting does not occur every 1 ms. For example, for make things easier I obtain 2 values from the FPGA (170 and 240) that would be a triangular signal and in the stripchart the period of the signal is very far from 1kHz (I acquire a different value every 1ms).

What is the problem here? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Controlling a matlab fle with Labwindows/CVI

SaveBitmapToJPEGFile Issue - Badly formed pathname

im trying to use the SaveBitmapToJPEGFile function

 

when im using a string by its stringname it gives me this error

but when im using the actual string itself it works fine..

 

for example:

this gives me an error

SaveBitmapToJPEGFile (wagepdf,tempname1, 0, 100);

while tempname1 contains "WageReport 16/02/20 13:50.jpg"

 

but this works fine

SaveBitmapToJPEGFile (wagepdf,"WageReport 16/02/20 13:50.jpg", 0, 100);

 

any idea why it doesn't work for me and how can i fix it?

ATTR_DB_CONN_COMMAND_TIMEOUT - wait forever

The help for ATTR_DB_CONN_COMMAND_TIMEOUT states "Number of seconds to wait for a command to execute".

Is it possible to specify "wait forever"?

Maybe with a value of 0?

 

In this case, can you update the documentation?

Discard Async Timer

Can we discard an Async timer inside it's callback?

I am currently using NI Lab Windows/CVI 2017. The application program is deployed to a Real Time system which is built upon PXIe 1065 chassis (PXIe 8115 controller).

 

As per the NI's help on Async Timer:

" On RT systems, a call to create an asynchronous timer will complete regardless of outstanding callbacks. A call to discard an asynchronous timer blocks only on outstanding callbacks for the timer that you are discarding."

 What will be the effected of discarding a timer inside it's callback is not clear with these statements

Multi-language User Interface

Hi,

 

Currently I am working on a prject in which I have to develop a User Interface with different language options. I have also read the Localization procedure by using language resource file(lwl) and dictionary file(lwd). The usage of lwl and lwd files are not maintainable according to my project specifications, so I dig a little bit into the langage resource file(lwl) but I was not able to understand format of lwl file(e.g Type, Flags etc). Is there any documentation available regarding the format of the language resource file and also How does the lwl and lwd are relating with each other.?

 

My second question is, what is the best way to automate the process to update lwl file  if I add new controls/panels to the user interface?.

Any help will be appreciated. Thankyou in advance

I am working in LabWindows 8.0.

I am making an application which will interact with Digital Multimeter HP34410.

I downloaded IVI driver from the site and using the same.

But While compiling I am getting following Errors.

Compile.exe : Return -1 when both succes and failure

Version : Labview/CVI 2017 - 17.0.0(295) (Windows 10)

 

Bug :

When using "compile.exe" to compile project from command line, the return value is always equal to "-1". This happens when the build failed but also when the build is successfull.

The problem is not present in version 2010 (Windows 7 - 32bits) and version 2015 (Windows 7 - 64bits). Result values are "0" (success) and "-1" (failure).

 

Expected :

Result value behave the same as previous version :

   - "0" : Success

   - "-1" : Failure

ViSession instrument object handle gets converted to unsigned int

In executable mode the instruments handle is passed around the functions in a string state in (view variable window)

The commands work.

 

When packaged to a dll. the instrument handle is created, but when it is passed to the next function call it is changed to an unsigned int and i get a general protection error.

The function will not work.
