Is it possible to call DAQmxWriteDigitalLines in different threads for different lines? or will every call have to be thread locked?

I am writing a test procedure in LabWindows. I want to talk to a microcontroller in order to tell it when to control a motor. I am considering using one of Atmel's mega chip series; however, I have never performed this task. I am curious if there are certain precautions that I need to take into account before I choose a mcu and/or features that are advantageous for LabWindows. The plan was to use some type of serial interface, but again, maybe there are better interface methods for this sort of thing. Are there any developers with this sort of experience that may have some general thoughts about this sort of task?

As anyone used the NI 9870 4-port RS232 Module with CompactDAQ and LabWindows? Or do our NI support folks out there know anything about this?
As the title says, Programmer's Toolbox function GetGeneralErrorString () does not recognizes error -180 (which relates to ActiveX and FileSelectPopupEx function).
When called with value -180, the function returns "No description available", while GetUILErrorString () returns the correct description for that error.
It seems to me that the error radicates in a incorrect userint.h file:

I am trying to read a 2d string array from a file and pass it back to TestStand
I have made a shortened version of my code that uses nested for loops to generate data instead of reading from a file.
if I define the 2d string array in the beginning I can pass it back with the following code:

If I use dynamic allocation I get an error that says the array is too small (on the first line I wrote above) even thought the data looks the same in the watch window
the attached file has 2 functions (FillArrayFromFile1 and FillArrayFromFile2) the first one works, the second one gives me the error
I can't figure out why any help would be appreciated

I would like to save the data in a oppened excel but i can't. So i decided to save the data in a table in Labwindows CVI and then copy the table to Excel. I can copy the table but I can't save data in it.
I tried the function: SetTableCellRangeVals but I have a problem with my data ("double" expected "pointer to pointer to char").
I have 630 points to save. When i tried to save it in excel, there were in a same cell so at the end I had only the last point.

I am debugging our device driver in a project under LabWindows/CVI 2010. The code was developed earlier by other engineer but he is not in the company now.
Specifically, there are 3 semaphore APIs I wanted to look into, but I could not find the proper document about them. The 3 APIs are used in driver as following:
SEM_ID mySema;

mySema = CreateSemaphore(NULL, 0, 1, NULL);
...
dwResult = WaitForSingleObject(mySem, 5000);
...
ReleaseSemaphore(mySema, 1, NULL);
I am wondering if WaitForSingleObject() belongs to the same group of APIs with CreateSemaphore() and ReleaseSemaphore().
Another general question is that where is the documentation for the detailed information of an API used in the driver? Please provide the web link or pdf documents.
